The most basic structure are :
1. Basic Sentence Structure (S + V + O)
A complete sentence must have:
• S (Subject) – Who or what the sentence is about.
• V (Verb) – The action or state of being.
• O (Object) – The receiver of the action (if needed).
Examples:
✅ She (S) plays (V) golf (O).
✅ He (S) hit (V) the ball (O).
2. Sentence Types & Structures
a) Simple Sentence (One Independent Clause)
A sentence with one subject and one verb.
✅ I love golf.
✅ He practices every day.
b) Compound Sentence (Two Independent Clauses)
Two simple sentences joined by a conjunction (and, but, or, so, yet, for, nor).
✅ He loves golf, but he struggles with his swing.
✅ I practiced a lot, so I improved my game.
c) Complex Sentence (Independent + Dependent Clause)
One complete sentence + one incomplete sentence.
✅ I play better when I practice regularly.
✅ Because it was raining, we canceled the match.
d) Compound-Complex Sentence (Multiple Clauses)
A mix of compound and complex sentences.
✅ I love golf, but because it was raining, we canceled the game.
✅ He improved his swing, and since he practiced daily, he won the tournament.
3. Word Order in Sentences
a) Affirmative Sentences (Normal Order)
Subject + Verb + Object
✅ She hits the ball perfectly.
✅ They enjoy playing golf.
b) Negative Sentences
Use do/does/did + not for negative statements.
✅ He does not play golf.
✅ I did not see the ball.
c) Questions (Interrogative Sentences)
Use helping verbs (do/does/did, is/are, will, can, etc.) at the beginning.
✅ Do you play golf?
✅ Can he hit a straight drive?
✅ Why is your swing so smooth?
4. Sentence Variations for Fluency
a) Using Adjectives & Adverbs
✅ He has a powerful swing. (Adjective)
✅ She hits the ball perfectly. (Adverb)
b) Using Prepositional Phrases
✅ He played on the best golf course.
✅ She improved after weeks of practice.
c) Passive Voice (When the Object Becomes the Subject)
✅ The ball was hit by the golfer. (Instead of The golfer hit the ball.)

6. Negative Sentences
• He does not like putting on fast greens.
• She didn’t play well in the last match.

7. Passive Voice (Object Becomes Subject)
• The ball was hit perfectly by the golfer. (Instead of The golfer hit the ball perfectly.)
• The tournament was won by a young player.
• The rules were explained by the coach.
• A hole-in-one was achieved by her on the 7th hole.
